Dr. George Siemens is the executive director of the Learning Innovation and Networked Knowledge (LINK) Research Lab at the University of Texas at Arlington. He received a Ph.D. from the University of Aberdeen on sensemaking and wayfinding in complex information settings. He is well known for developing the learning theory of connectivism, as well as for his pioneering work in learning analytics and massively open online courses (MOOCs). He was among the first people ever to design and facilitate a MOOC.
